SUM, the Ivelandic association of environmental impact on health, is a non-profit organization of members that have experienced health restrictions and diseases caused by environmental exposure and negative environmental impact, or have loved ones who have been affected.
It is our hope to offer a safe haven for those living with Mold Illness, MCS, TILT, EHS, MCAS, CIRS or Environmental Illness — to stand up for their rights, raise awareness, and contribute to prevention and educational efforts.
Our goal is to help create a healthier society and environment where everyone has the chance to thrive — and to prevent more people from becoming ill in the polluted chemical soup of modern life.
On our website, www.samtoksum.is, you’ll find personal stories and educational resources, research and information about mold, excessive microorganisms, chemicals, fragrances, additives, EMF, air, water and earth pollution and other negative environmental exposures. You will also find information about prevention methods and ideas to find better balance and health.
We encourage you to visit the site and if you are already a sufferor of environmental exposures and illness, or a loved one, you can become a full member, with a yearly membership cost of 2900 ISK.
You can support the cause and find strength through peer support and our rising community. You can also support our cause by following us on social media, liking and sharing our content, and taking part in the environmental global and public health conversation. This helps spread the message to those who need it most— especially those who feel alone and might feel defeated in their struggle.
Together, we are stronger. Together, we can influence the public conversation and help bring awareness about the change our society needs.
